Fettes Love & Sieben

Fettes Love & Sieben has served Chicago and the suburbs since 1924. The company operates a service department with eleven trucks focused on residential and commercial work. Their service plumbers handle projects ranging from single-family homes throughout the suburbs to Chicago's high-rises and mid-rises.

They also take contract work—high-end residential, commercial, healthcare, riser replacement, industrial, and design-build projects—and offer free estimates. The business is rated 4.5 of 5 from 35 Google reviews. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

To verify a plumber's credentials in Illinois, use the state licensing lookup tool at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) website. You can check whether an individual or company is licensed by visiting their online portal or calling (888) 473-4858.

Most plumbing work in Chicago requires a permit from the Department of Buildings. Before hiring a plumber, confirm that they will obtain the necessary permits or that you understand your obligation to apply for them. The City of Chicago provides permit application forms and permit status checks online.

When you contact a plumber, ask whether they hold the required state license and whether they carry liability insurance. Confirm they are familiar with the specific work you need—whether it's service calls, new construction, or specialized projects like riser replacement—and that they can provide references or examples of similar work.
