Georgia's State Licensing Board for Residential and Commercial General Contractors oversees licensure for both residential and commercial work. General contractors in Georgia must hold a valid license, which you can verify through the Georgia Secretary of State's online GOALS portal by the contractor's name or license number. Before hiring, confirm that TIC's license is current and in good standing.

When evaluating a general contractor, ask about the scope of work they handle in-house versus through subcontractors. Self-performed work can offer better cost and schedule control. TIC self-performs marine and heavy civil construction and operates its own equipment fleet and fabrication facility—factors that affect how the company manages and delivers projects.

Ask your contractor about their experience with projects similar to yours, insurance coverage and bonding requirements, and the timeline and permit process for your specific project type.
