Hiring an HVAC Contractor in Pensacola, Florida
Florida's Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) regulates HVAC contractors in the state. Before hiring, you should verify that any contractor you consider holds a valid license. The DBPR (Department of Business and Professional Regulation) maintains a public license search tool where you can look up contractors by name, license number, or city. This search is free and available online at myfloridalicense.com.
HVAC work in Florida falls under the state's construction licensing requirements. Contractors are classified as either certified (authorized to work statewide) or registered (authorized only in specific jurisdictions). When you call Huntinghouse HVAC at (850) 748-7551, ask whether they hold a state license and in which category. You can independently confirm their license status through the DBPR search before signing any contract.
Florida Building Code requirements apply to HVAC installations and modifications in Pensacola. If your project involves ductwork, heat pump installation, or furnace replacement, the work must comply with current code standards.
