Hiring a Plumber in Coral Springs, Florida
Florida plumbers must hold a license issued by the Construction Industry Licensing Board, part of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). A plumber's license shows they have met the state's competency requirements. You can verify any plumber's license by searching the DBPR's online licensing portal by the contractor's name or license number.
Most plumbing work in Florida requires a building permit and must comply with the Florida Building Code. When hiring a plumber, confirm they understand local permit requirements and will pull permits for your job. Building code standards cover everything from pipe sizing and material to installation methods, so a licensed plumber will know what the code requires in your area.
Before calling, have your plumber's license number ready to check online, and ask whether they will handle permitting and inspections for your project.
How do I verify a Florida plumber's license?
Visit the DBPR's online licensing portal at myfloridalicense.com. You can search by the contractor's name or license number to confirm their license is current and in good standing. [2]
